This painting shows Christ rising triumphantly from the ground. The Creed says,
“He descended into hell, and on the third day, he rose again from the dead.”
The dead are symbolized by the graves on the ground. Christ’s rising is like an
explosion of great force — a force of love and energy that will penetrate
and influence the world for the next 2,000 years.
